Far be it from me to cast doubts about this lad's story but,if you saw him on TV, don't you think he looked a little too healthy for someone who had been lost in the mountains for 2 weeks...? How much would people do for a payment "for their story" these days....As I said,it's probably all above board but sometimes it makes you think..

It's a strange story. Surely the doctors would know if he was in rather better shape than one who had lived on berries etc. for a week or two?

Spirit of free enterprise. If they're daft enough to pay him £500,000 for getting lost in the mountains I say good luck to him. I wish I'd thought of heading out into the woods with a rucksack full of pies.

Seriously though; I don't think he's making unless he was willing to starve himself. He's on a drip and the doctors seem fairly convinced.

If you have seen his brother and his mother, you would understand that he probably was carrying a fair amount of spare capacity. Even if he wasn't carrying his phone. His family are on the generous side of the guide lines for weight. Either that or they are about six feet short of the height they should be for their weight.
