After seeing the CCTV somebody must know them. This is the 3rd time they have been done over and I would have thought after the first time they would have made it a bit more difficult for somebody to do it again

£40 Mill wow thats impresseive, but surely if the items are such high value they will have problems shifting them on?

£40 mil on paper but nowhere near that in reality. The pieces are surely broken up by some bent jeweler and sold at a fraction of their 'real' value?

It's a scary moment in time.

I was a material witness to the last one about 5 years ago or so. I was called to the Old Bailey to give evidence and it's one of the worst 5p, 50p moments I've ever had (the entire episode, not just giving evidence!)

£60m - that's quite a lot of money yes

Edited to add it must have been 7 or 8 years ago now, not 5 - how time fly's!

I'll take a fraction of £40 million if you've got one going.

Even 0.01% if you've got it.

I think the plod have missed the boat to be honest, those guys wil already have left the country by the weekend.
I suspect that they already had buyer's set up as well.

From an ex criminal barrister's perspective this was a perfect job.

1. No one killed or hurt, soiled clothing aside, and over in 60 seconds
2. Do it once, do it BIG, and NEVER do another
3. Buyer already lined up no doubt
4. They are GONE GONE GONE.

Has all the hallmarks of ex military, perhaps Serbians who are very good at flying in, doing a job, and getting out, never to been again.

Respect due.

These pieces will be indevidual works, and commisions. All the stones will be highly documented. they are destined to either be broken into small pieces or straight into some mega private collection, never to be seen again.

Surprised they used the guns they had. raises the stakes.

Last bunch to rob Graffs were from eastern europe werent they?

Where does the figure of £40 million come from? Could it be that Gaffs are exaggerating the total?

Just reading this story again, the robbery happened last thursday, how come it was not made public until yesterday? Surely a shot being fired on Bond street in the middle of the day would be news worthy immediately as opposed to 4 days later

Wasn't one of them Black? Although that doesn't mean he can't be Serbian it does reduce the odds.

I would imagine the difficulty is not the heist but where to sell your ill-gotten gain. If you want to make money through crime fraud is a far better bet. Lots of cash and the chances of beings successfully prosecuted are minimal.

Get on the carousel.
