I find it harder to believe how quick many are to rule it out! If you consider how wealthy, powerful, and ruthless you have to be to get into these positions of power, the idea that "they would not do such a thing!" is patently naive. If you also consider just how conveniently the attack served the purposes of those in power...

And quite how hard it would be to keep a conspiracy of this magnitude quiet.Bill said:

You are rather leaping to conclusions yourself. "of this magnitude"? 19 people, all dead? You'd only need one man you trust to make the phone calls...

There is almost certainly a cover-up somewhere with 9-11 though, whether it was intelligence failures or worse, you can bet there has been a lot of arse-covering since it happened.
Exactly, the fact that NORAD ignored the hijacked planes flying outside of their designated flight path is a massive f
k up. They had tracked and intercepted 30 or 40 planes in the 12 months running up to 9/11 IIRC.There's varying degrees of daftness in 9/11 conspiracy theories. The stupidest are the ‘controlled demolition with explosives’/’not passenger jets’ theories. These can be dismissed out of hand as they’re entirely ridiculous. The ‘US had some involvement’ ones are less easy to dismiss. Obviously the CIA funded Bin Laden et al back in the day. They were our allies against the dirty commies after all and presumably they still have contacts. The attacks did give Bush, Cheney and their minions perfect justification for all kinds of stuff. Bit of a stretch to claim they organized the whole thing though.

Agree with HK, its far more likely if, and its a mahoooosive if, there was any foul play, it was more a case of the event being allowed to happen, rather than anyone in the US administration/security services having a direct hand in it.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
