Also, just last week there was the case of the trucker killing his daughter (or step-daughter, can't remember) then hanging himself.

Also, when you see those programmes about serial killers a high proportion seem to be truckers, or drivers of some sort!

Can of worms now well and truly open, but what are we to make of these facts?

Clarkson just used the standard insult, He didn't invent the whole notion it is just accepted as fact.

If we're going for generalisations - lets not forget taxi drivers - many are (were) rapists.
