It is just amazing how bad things have gotten in the automotive heartland. Housing tracts are being returned to farmland, the police no longer enforce speeding, and now, unclaimed bodies are piling up in the morgues.

I wonder how long this city can survive...

OMFG how will they survive.. I guess that's why there are far too many bodies in the morgue...

Surely sanitation etc would fall to the Govt to fix though, bodies etc = health risk.

Sorry to go OT but what is the story with these kinds of things? Is it worth a punt of 10x $50 houses?!

Nope...not in the slightest...unless you buy 2,3,4 entire city Blocks and then wall it off....even then ..just no.

I think it may be a bit like Soweto/Johannesburg, but with a crime problem.

It makes you realise what we have in this country. Alright we've got utter cretins in charge at the moment and things are far from perfect, but in comparison to parts of the States, I'm very glad that I live in the UK.

That's because our Cretins still have a very good education and a higher IQ than the American cretins.

Could you rip it down, throw it in a u-haul, then go somewhere and get $100 for the timber?

AND you can pay in monthly installments!biggrin

Sounds fun, we could all group together, buy a load of city blocks up, declare independance and create a PH state.

I bet there's a hidden cost. Unpaid taxes, notary fees, planning permissions etc. I seriously doubt you could buy the land and building for 20 or 50$ (plus your solicitors fees)

The only cretins here are those who think that East Warren Street in Detroit is indicitive of the U.S. There are parts of Detroit that were that way before the autoslump. It is a matter of character, or lack thereof, that portions of that city's entitlement population have displayed for years; nothing new.

Check below; even when things are bad, even that city is far from the picture being painted by your article. smile

Interesting. I wonder about the logistics of running a crackhouse or we-den from that house and running it remotely from a Thai beach.
