The sort of sentence thugs can expect for murder now?????
Discussion
Just been reading about the two animals who stomped to death Michel Eccles, in Lichfield a while back. They got 11 and 13 years minimum sentences. Obviously they have to keep their noses very clean inside to get out in that period, but it could happen.

I guess we can all feel free to murder and stomp whomever we choose, if jail is going to be merely a token punishment nowadays.

Father-of-five Michael Eccles, 43, was left with a shattered eye socket, collapsed lung, broken ribs and stamping injuries covering his battered body after he was brutally assaulted by Jordan Carroll and Carl Keatley.
Carroll, 16, was jailed for a minimum of 11 years and Keatley, 21, told he must serve at least 13 years behind bars.
Speaking after the pair were sentenced for murder at Birmingham Crown Court, Mr Eccles' brother-in-law John Bayliss launched a stinging attack on the Government's approach to dealing with anti-social behaviour.
He said: "We as a family are very disappointed with the sentences that have been passed down today. It is no surprise that innocent people are being murdered when the consequences are so feeble. This is not justice. These evil people have been found guilty of murder and have shown no remorse at all.
"The Government must see that society is broken. Until there are some serious consequences to their actions, the anti-social element will continue their reign of terror. Perhaps the Government should concentrate on our own war on terror - a war against the feral youths that are terrorising our communities."
The killers, both from Lichfield, Staffordshire, were found guilty of murder earlier this year after attacking Mr Eccles as he made his way from local shops. His left eye socket was shattered and rib and neck bones broken following the attack in the Dimbles area of Lichfield, on January 25. He died in hospital from his injuries.
I've written to my MP, David Kidney, in Stafford, as this really pisses me off. Carroll, 16, was jailed for a minimum of 11 years and Keatley, 21, told he must serve at least 13 years behind bars.

Labour think scum like this are victims of society. They are in fact vermin.
Might be better not to look into what's happened to the perpetrators in the past, they may well have been sent on safaris or given trainers and CDs for their troubles, as has happened around here - Gloucester Social Services spent £7k of tax payers money on a safari holiday for a habitual offender who became notorious as Safari Boy, a judge sentencing him some time later indicated what a waste of money it had been.
The whole 'justice' system is now a perverse mockery and shameful indictment of the idiots in charge for the last 11 years plus those who do their incompetent bidding.

I'd agree that these sorts of
s have forfeited the right to be involved at all in society, they should be kept away for the rest of their lives, but a life term with a 13 year minimum before possible parole, then remainder of life on licence, is hardly a token punishment
But the 16 year old got 11 years minimum, so if he keeps his nose clean he will be out walking the streets when he is just 27. A convicted murderer back out on the streets in his mid twenties? license or otherwise that DOES sound like a token punishment to me. Especially if is is still a chav asshole, as his street cred will be incredible, "Yeah, I did some geezer when I was 16, innit" which means he will STILL be a very real danger to the general public.
And there is also this oxygen thief:
Ricky Anderson, 17, was given a life term with a minimum sentence of nine years and two months by Northampton Crown Court after admitting the murder of 65-year-old Peter Bryan......The group set about Mr Bryan, 65, punching him, and Anderson beat him with a hammer he had taken with him - breaking his arm and fracturing his skull........
I hope someone inside takes exception to him killing an old man and sorts him out!!!

It's about time the judiciary stopped treating perpetrators as "victims" who need to be molly coddled and started treating them as the scum they are.
23 hour a day lockdown, 1 hour excercise, no PS3s, TVs etc. Minimum 20 year term with no possibility of parole. Can't do the time, don't do the crime.

For killing a pensioner with a hammer.
Unbeleivable.
They are like f

Has anyone else been reading the death row last words thread?, the offender info is equally harrowing, but at least each of the offenders did recieve an appropriate sentence.

But these feckers actually enjoy life in prison, you just sit around playing your video games all day and wathcing TV whist getting free meals, accomadation, dental and health care.
I bet these kids have a great time

Not all of them received appropriate sentances unfortunately.Something that I don't understand is that, for example, in the article referenced in the "Cunning Plan" thread, it mentions that the chap who was convicted of the attempted murder of the chap who the Police shot and killed, was sentenced to 24 years.
How can you be sentenced to 24 years, which I assume means you'll serve at least 12, whilst you can be sentenced to "Life" and be out in 9?

What incenses me about this case was a comment made during the hearing "he was in the wrong place at the wrong time" - that is a patronizing and ridiculous statement to make - there should be no such concept in this country as a no-go area. I can understand it if the victim was wandering unaccompanied in Afghanistan but this is the UK!
Towards the end of the news article it was mentioned that CCTV cameras had been installed, I would be amazed if that was much of a deterrent, all they would provide is more evidence for a conviction.
