Czech president is seeking an opt out. Is this a delaying ploy?

I expect the usual promises and bully-boy tactics will be used to make sure he signs on the dotted before we can hold a referendum and spoil everything.

A clever ploy. They'll give him his opt-out rather than risk a delay.

We can only wish our own politicians were half as smart. In Gordon's case, a pinky-finger's worth would be a start.

given the lengths the Sith went to in ensuring that Ireland voted the correct way even after the first defeat, I'm increasingly comming to the conclusion that even if the treaty isnt ratified by the time winky gets his P45, something will happen that will prevent Cameron from holding a referendum.

The only sensible protest would be to take up arms against the Nazi scum EU, something we cant do as it's now illegal to own anything more powerfull than a peashooter

that would be at best a Pyrrhic victory or more likely a terrible loss, given that the cost of the first two world wars crippled the country for years. I presume, however, that you are merely using hyperbole.

Either way, we can't... they banned all the really good guns some time back.

God I hate the EU and all the Euro-bureacrats.
It's weird when you go to mainland Europe and find them genuinely shocked that most Brits are anti-EU.....

Plenty of other nations have guns. Plus, all you need is the Army on your side.

How would we notice the difference?

Winky has crippled us without the need for a war.

The EU will not risk leaving it until our GE, that's for sure. They wont let that pesky democracy thing interfere with their plans.

Then Tony can ascend to the throne, and Mandy will join him at his right hand.

AFAIS the Czech President is just wanting another bribe, the way the Irish received a bribe to vote yes...
I DO hope that's not true as they're our only hope of delaying the Lisbon Treaty until the UK can have a vote on it.....

Doesn't matter, if we were able to raise enough cash I'm sure we could hire the likes of Blackwater / Xe

Vaclav Klaus has good credentials for not swallowing bullscensoredt, I too hope he will spin this out for as long as he can, there is a very small chance that this is what he intends to do and we can only hope. For him, viewing the situation cynically, it's win win.

Does anyone else think the main reason Brown is PM is not for him but for Blair?
To hold back ANY election until his High Almighty Master is in power within the EU and then step down/call election.

If the treaty is ratified, is there absolutely no get out clause?

Can CMD have a referendum and if the majority of the UK want out then withdraw from the treaty and walk away.
