so not only are we forced to pay for local news re the licence fee ( that I actually cant get with virgin media despite being 200 metres from the local news studios..) we have to pay for this online s

how on earth can they justify this anytime let alone with a recession on? according to the times today they have paid bob geldofs tv company 1.6million for a hollyoaks style soap. wtf 1.6 million of council tax money??!?! roads ok. hospitals ok. schools ok. online tv that we already have and pay for no fking thankyou.

Oh yes - but lets not forget the hype they sold us when I complained they had their priorities wrong.
It started out as a £200,000 sampler to see if it would work - Bob "I'm good at taking money off people for useless causes" Geldof did what he did best - took the money and then asked for more. The Council couldn't loose face since so many people had complained about it in the first place so more money was ploughed in.
It's grown but only through the council putting stuff on their which really is crap and using it as a method of propaganda - much the same as their Around Kent magazine - which when I last enquired was costing the tax payers of Kent something in the order of £700,000 a year (excluding staff costs because they couldn't give me those figures!) and all to promote - look how good we're doing.
They really are up themselves.
