I thought the Conservative, Damien Green came across very well on last nights QT – much better than the cabinet minister Alan Johnson, who acted, I think, more like a second rate trade union official compared to the more articulate (in every way) Tory. I liked his (Green’s) dig about being the only one arrested for doing his job!
I also liked the fact that the mention of J. Smith’s name got as many boos as the BNP leader!

Thought that UKIP guy came across very well too.

Agreed with a lot of what he said, though at times felt he was saying it because it was what he thought the audience wanted to hear.

Nigel Farage. Worth checking out some of his rants in the EU parliment on youtube, he does a good rant.
Apparently planning on running against the speaker in the general election...

I know Nigel Farage can hold his own (even that LibDem guy wasn't too bad - at least compared to Johnson), and I do enjoy listening to him, but I had never heard Damian Green before, and I was quite impressed with his performance, and he didn't resort to the usual mud slinging that NL are so prone to do when in a corner.

I'd keep your insults to yourself pal. You might get into a bit of bother.

S'pose it depends who gets in the way least of his daily Sky TV/Tennents Super sessions.

A strange comment to make when the thread is so young and most of the posts are about UKIP.

However, you'll find that the readership of PH is heavily Conservative-leaning. You are clearly not a Conservative supporter, so who would you prefer to see in power at the present time and why?

He was interesting, but i think his stance on the BNP was dangerous - just ignore them, and don't give them a platform on QT (which was essentially taking the same position as Alan Johnson). Whereas both the Lib Dem guy and Damian Green were taking the libertarian stance (see i'm not a Tory fan boy).

Right. So why bother coming on a politial thread, making a retarded comment and then refusing to join the debate?

44% Conservative
27% Labour
17% LibDem

From the latest YouGov poll, so there seems to be a significant percentage of Tory Fan Boys and Tory Fan Girls in the country as a whole. On PH the percentage is about 70% from the last look at a related thread.

The problem with Farage is that he loves the sound of his own voice and won't shut up. Green was ok but a bit bland, which probably sums him up. I always reckoned that Johnson was a good operator but I agree with the OP, he came across like a 70's union heavy last night. Maybe he realises that Winky's refusal to go before the election means that his chance of leadership has probably gone... Norman Baker appeared to be dressed to go on to a rather naff 70's fancy dress party.
