Yes, it's a daily mail link, but first thing O found about it on google, after seeing the vid on liveleak... Is there more to this than meets the eye? I'm curious as to exactly what was talked about, and how heated it got. Is this going to be another us vs Muslims sensationalist report, or does it have solid grounding?

Anyone know more?

anyone else sick of hearing about how muslims are offended by anything remotely non muslim? There is no such thing as freedom of speech when it concerns them in the conversation so i say ban all reigious public speech then no one can offend anyone else.
edited to add im not racist im just tired of the one sidedness of all this

Strange isn't it. Muslim extremists carry out terror attacks and there's no Muslim outrage. Talk about their religion though and suddenly there's outrage!? WTF

Agreed. Ban all public displays of religion then no-one can take offence (or imagined offence).

Next best thing to abolishing all religions completely then the planet can move forward once more.

If someone makes something up, it is permitted to debate and criticise it.

Call it religion, and it becomes illegal.

Why does religion deserve special respect? It is not based on anything substantial or real.

I dunno.

Draw a cartoon picture of a bearded fairy and it's all "Burn them" and "Kill the infidels".

Blow a load of innocent people up for just going about their daly business and it's "Er, I dunno, s'pose it's bad. But they probably deserve it"

scratchchin i wonder how long this thread will last before it gets binned??
most of the time racism is created by a few small minded bigots very occasionaly its self inflicted, but now most people are afraid to speak how they feel for fear of the orange boiler suit treatment

Is it illegal to refuse to deal with someone who you think might be muslim, just incase you offend them?

It would be for thier benefit!

A bloody good point.

Let's flip things around here; what if the Christian couple had complained about the Muslim woman's comments?

Is this continued nonsense not just adding fuel to the religious fire!

Nobody cared about it until some small secions of these faiths decided to make a big deal out of it.

People should be allowed to express their opinion as they wish, whether it be a bit 'contraversial' or otherwise. The people taking offence strike me as people who have nothing else to worry about.

There isnt a day goes by when there isnt a headline detailing another bomb attack related to dodgy religious beliefs. Is there any need to blow people up because you think different to someone else - No, now fcensoredk off with your religious bcensoredks and pull your head out of your self riteous acensoredes.

Ooooh it does get on my mannories this stuff wink

Frustrating this. Legally anything someone perceives to be racist is racist (came out from the Stephen Lawrence enquiry). However under Religious Discrimination and Hatred Law you can express views on a religion inc. disagreeing with it as long as you do not incite hatred/violence. Freedom of speech covers this. As for being charged with a public order offence - being inside of the B&B may not be classed as a public place. Me thinks the Police bosses pushed this one to be investigated/arrests to be made as is a "hate crime" and as such a Home Office priority.

shall we wait until there is a verdict before we start hand wringing and deciding what the decision will be?
