I saw this ad earlier today, and propoganda was the word that stuck in my head.
I've not got a problem with reducing energy usage, recycling etc. but to focus every single effort on CO2 just seems bizarre...
Would you be surprised to see carbon monoxide detectors being replaced by CO2 detectors in a few years? silly

I believe ANYTHING that brings attention to one of the most important issues our generation or any before us has had to deal with, is good.

Our children must be made aware of the dangers they face in the future should our generation not take action NOW.

Those who choose to see this as a negative thing are simply trying to bury their heads in the sand about the catastrophic future we face if this issue is not addressed by the powers that be in every country. We are NOT protecting our children by taking a "soft" approach to climate change. In fact, we are doing the opposite. After all, it is they who will face the affects of a damaged planet because their parents chose to live in la-la land when they were children, incapable of making the necessary changes themselves.

I think we should all stop being the over-sensitive, selfish society we have proven to be thus far and actually support any effort any government makes towards climate change!

I think it's a reasonable advert and even if it is too scary, I think people NEED scaring into helping the environment, because it is us teenagers and the children who are going to have to bare the brawn of it all. We all NEED to help the planet, before it's too late.

Not to worry - the truth will out in the end.

Whether we're all living in caves by then remains to be seen.

...BTW - I do hope your Login name is ironic...wink

It will be interesting to see how the ASA rule on this one. I have always thought they had a particular agenda on CC.

There have been countless complaints upheld on car adverts where the eco credentials of a 4x4 or CO2 stats are deemed misleading. Usually the complaints originate from the anti Urban 4x4 lobby or other eco fringe group.
