50% increase - due to better performance? That's good for those getting the bonuses but also good for the country surely, not least from the macro-economic perspective. Where relevant, monies (paid as bail-outs) from taxation can be paid back more quickly.
The increase is also a 0.25% share of the national debt Winky will leave us as his parting gift, and about 0.1% of GDP so it is minute in the scheme of things
