'Earlier today a Royal Navy warship on duty in the Indian Ocean came across their empty yacht, the Lynn Rival, adrift in international waters. The find prompted Gordon Brown to call a meeting of Cobra, the Whitehall emergency committee, to discuss how to secure the couple’s release.'

Would love to have been at that meeting.

GB walks in. Right, I propose the usual. Talk tough, make out I'm hard as fk and then cave in the moment someone stands up to me? Done. Tea and biscuits anyone?

I bet Winky was mightily peed of that another situation has happened which will undoubtedly make him look like a pillock.

However - it does allow him the excuse to run around and pretend that the Nimrod report didn't really happen so he can showboat and promote Anthony Charles Lynton Blair as Emperor Palpatine.

Well they ought to be paying benefit in kind on them.

Seriously! We got pulled up over provision of biccies in internal meetings. It was one meeting a month which lasted a morning and the local revenue objected.

To be fair to GB, what would anyone want of him?
Let slip the dogs of war?
Then to face the opprobrium of many.
For two who ignored advice?

Why would the pirates let the hostage tell the world exactly where they were being held captive...?

Are the pirates hoping to spark an international incident, or find an excuse to attack more of our shipping?

Seems a bit fishy to me!

COBRA is the name of the room where they meet, not the name of the commitee.
