I got this piece of paper and I didn't really understand all the words.

I asked my mum and she told me I had been made redundant.
Still, it goes to show the depth of the imapct of this recession. Joking aside, there are huge numbers of workers who are not showing up on unemployment figures because they are still, technically 'in work' but who have had their hours and pay decimated. The other week I heard of an engineering works in the Black Country where they were only working 3 days a fortnight.

All of this does filter through into the economy and some of this is a result of banks axing business credit.

He is a 13 year old who can't read, future job prospects do not look good.

Most likely they copied exactly what was on the paper which was a standard form that carries that Tax & NI notice no matter who it is referring to.

yes I did a large paper round once a week and got that much in about 1982. Having said that i could walk into any job agency and get warehouse work paying £5 an hour in 1989. in 2009 similar work still pays approx £5 an hour but there are no jobs available!
