How do we? Or WHY do we?

"A 13-year-old girl was stoned to death for adultery in the southern town of Kismayo last year.
Human rights groups said she had been raped"

I don't believe we should provide any money to any state which relies heavily upon religion in it's criminal law.

Violence and barbarianism in Islamic areas of Somalia? Who'd have thunk it? One thing that strikes me when reading that article is the term 'Islamist'. Is it in some way meant to be less offensive that calling them 'Muslims'?

I can't post what I really, really feel, deep down in side.

I would be flamed and barred from PH for life.

No, please go on. Make sure you do the usual, ie tar everyone with the same brush, including many people like myself, born and brought up here, who have contributed massively to the lives of many people, have respectable jobs and pay large amounts of tax too.

Oh and FWIW, practices like those in the title of this thread are utterly abhorrent and are most often related to cultural practices inherent to cultures in various parts of the world, but have been adopted within Muslim countries as a part of their practice. Most often these practices pre-date monotheistic religion by many years.

Why would you feel 'tarred with the same brush' when people on here talk about Somali muslims acting like monsters?

I don't feel that way when nutty christian fundamentalists are criticised on here.

The post was made in reference to his contributions in the other forum, about the killings on the US military base.

Your issue, 968, is that you take offense at comments aimed at extremist Muslims. Theya re not aimed at regular Mr Islam walking down the street, but the nutters like Choudrey, Hamza, and the fruitbats that strap bombs to themselves, or promote stonings, beheadings, etc.

I still can't see why you associate yourself with it. It's not aimed at you any more than it is at me when white christians from the other side of the world are criticised on here.

So "nuke the lot of them" is only aimed at extremists?
They must have invented some bloody clever nukes....

That's just a small example of some of the utter tripe that gets posted on Pistonheads daily. I'm not a religious man, but frankly the attittudes displayed by some on here are shamefull.

Hmmm... After searching this thread for a nuke reference, I can't find it. I suggest you address that particular issue at the person who said it. Either you see fundamentalist islam as an issue, or you don't. Trying to quash discussion is a solution to neither.

No, I'm quite clear on this distinction and will be the first one to condemn those people. The problem is that it isn't just the extremists that this particular person is commenting on, particularly on the other thread.

"IMHO this is the worlds most disingenuous and duplicitous religion.

They are allowed in their religion to lie and cheat the infidel in order to achieve their aims.

How can you take at face value anything said by such a religion?"

So that comment is aimed only at the extremists or every person within a particular religion?

He's an obnoxious idiot that hopefully doesn't epitomize this forum.
On this particular subject and others alike, such a shame that nothing proactive is being done to stop this kind of barbaric behaviour.
It also sounds like the mother to be could go the same way after giving birth. Surely something has to be done to stop this.

Some practices performed in this region of africa, in particular, are particularly barbaric and abhorrent. Disgusting practices such as female circumcision have no place in any society/culture. As with Afghanistan, this place is devoid of the rule of law, and has been for many decades. Consequently, people fall back on these ancient and barbaric practices.

Yes, and it's not likely to change very soon. Considering it's 'islamic' to do what they do (in their opinion) at the very least shouldn't the islamic countries make a noise about this and many other customs that are just plain inhuman?

Oh I think they have and people do, but these practices happen in the villages by people who often have little connection with the outside world, besides which contrary to popular opinion, most of these countries which are Islamic, have no real relationship with their neighbours certainly none where any influence can realistically be applied.
