Funny how that when he seemed to be cruising to the EU Presidential post he was all modest, flattered and laid back about the whole thing. Now that he is under threat from far more worthy candidates, he's now phoning people in desperation to secure the post.

As much as old Tony is a sleazy scumbag, he is well known and still highly regarded on the world platform.

However the argument should be concentrating on why the hell we are rolling over to allow a socialist state and dictatorship with an un-elected leader of a federal Europe.

Sadly, your scenario more likely has a different outcome:

As the sniper's finger began the process of applying the required force on the trigger, a sheet of plate glass detached itself from a gallery window above his vantage point - falling directly downwards, edge on....the crowd's applause for Blair turning to horrified screams as the sniper's head, neatly sliced off by the glass, bounced into the auditorium, spraying blood over the horrified onlookers in a wide arc.

In the panic, all attention moves from the stage; no-one noticed Blair's eyes flash to pure black for an instant, as beneath his coiffured hair, the three digits embossed on his scalp since birth glowed a deep, demonic red.
