So, pikeys have set up locally. As per usual, little is done to stop them:

Local Rag said:
LEAFLETS posted through doors claim to name the man who sold a piece of land now used as an encampment by travellers.
The camp has been set up off Fairfield Road in the Hardhorn area near Poulton, much to the anger of local residents.

They are complaining of noise and have raised concerns about road safety and potential crime.

Now someone has dropped leaflets through doors, naming and showing a picture of the previous owner of the land.

The leaflet said: "This is the man that sold the land. This man thought it was funny. This man was aware who he was selling to. If you see him, say thank you."

Another site has been taken over by travellers off Lancaster Road, Preesall. In both cases the land is now thought to be owned by travellers.

Police said today the sites were a civil matter for the council to deal with, unless a crime is committed.

Officers also warned that hate crimes would not be tolerated.

A spokesman said: "The police will remain independent on this matter and our aim is to work with all parties to develop a solution to any problems which occur.

"Any issues relating to inciting hatred against a minority group or individual will be investigated."

Wyre and Fylde councils are under huge pressure to take action after being inundated with complaints from residents. Both authorities are holding crunch talks to decide how to proceed.

Ward councillor for the area in Hardhorn, Albert Pounder, claimed a stop work notice, issued on Saturday, had been broken.

He added: "Senior councillors, ward councillors and officers will meet in the next couple of days to discuss the several courses of response which relate to enforcement of planning regulations.

"We have to consider that the people on the site are the rightful owners of the land, however, we will take on board the concerns of residents as to the use of the land.

"We will take all possible action to ensure planning and development regulations are adhered to."

Ward councillor for Preesall, Paul Moon, added: "There will be meetings taking place and I'm sure the Environment Agency will be involved.

"This seems to have been a co-ordinated effort and we will be looking at whether regulations have been broken."

There are around a dozen caravans at each site.

At the site in Poulton yesterday a man in work clothes told The Gazette the people on the camp did not want to "be a burden" to the local community, but would comment no further.
It's unbelievable. If any ordinary member of the public began building on such land, without planning permission, the council would bring the wrath of God down on them. If you're a pikey, they'll simply 'ensure planning and building regulations are adhered to'.

Nice to see the police already playing the race card too.

A communist government will always allow this sort of thing. It's called social engineering. The intentional uncontrolled immigration has done much the same thing.

If you want to try and disprove me then you can do your own legwork. I'm sure you'll find plenty of examples of people who've erected something only to have to pull it down at the request of the council.

In this case, on the land these 'travellers' are building on, planning permission would be denied outright so it's unlikely an ordinary MoP would even begin building anything in the first place to have to pull it down.

A Telford man has been jailed for 12-weeks after failing to pull down an extension he was building next to his home for which he had refused to obtain planning permission. Accountant Sylvester Nseowo has gone to prison after ignoring an enforcement notice then a subsequent court order requiring the removal of the structure, under construction at his home in the Telford suburb of St Georges.

A luxury £500,000 house in Wiltshire could be knocked down because it was built 20 inches in the wrong place. Council planners have withdrawn planning permission for the four-bed property in Kings Road, Easterton, after discovering it was 20in too far to the right.

A retrospective planning application was submitted and carefully considered by members of the Planning Committee who decided that the changes which had been made to the scheme were unacceptable, and therefore refused planning permission to retain the house.

Doesn't always go the way of travellers, thankfully.

last year we had a customer visiting (I won;t say who, or where from) for a demonstration of one of our crushers. During the demo, we got onto the subject of how work was holding up for them and the boss's face lit up - "d'you know what the council were paying us to do yesterday?" he said. "We were out with a couple of 150hp tractors towing pikey caravans of some land." thumbup

This story is pretty much where I live, st isn't it.

Like someone said if any 'normal' person tried to legitimately set up what they are doing then they would be stopped.

I mean FFS they are putting drains in and building roads at the moment my mate (who lives about 1/2 mile from the site) was telling me last night.

Absolutely shocking and nothing will (or can) be done... furious

(I know a few of our customers would be interested in the demolition work.)

If they are anything like the Police Farce round our way when dealing with the sub human scum that are pikeys, what they really mean is " The police will remain totaly spinless on this matter and our aim is not to do anything at all or develop any solution no matter what problems occur"

Good to see that they won't tolorate hate crimes against the pikey filth but happily do nothing to prevent their uncontrolled criminal activities. Some things never change eh.

What a joke.

Probably a bad example there. In my opinion in that case the demolition order was 100% justified as the extension looked like something out of a shanty town.

Exactly! Not to mention the other one that was 20 INCHES in the wrong place, 20 INCHES? That's just over the width of the keyboard you may be typing on.

Might I interest you with a Weekend break in Leicester?

Amongst other delights, we have a huge selection of curry houses, Indian Gold jewellers and Sari shops, a sprawling Red-light district and a bustling Job Centre. We have a plentiful supply of some of the drunkest tramps in the country reared on nothing but the finest Turbo-White and home grown Walkers Crisps.
You will be able to visit our schools, some of which even received on-the-spot compliments such as "Chief Inspector is of the opinion that this school requires special measures" or "Staff do not understand their leadership and management roles" at recent Ofsted inspections.

On second thoughts...don't come here. Its a sthole!
