What possible good comes from banning refunds? Thats just crazy!

The consumers rights is the only thing we have to ensure we recieve a good service.... by banning refunds, we no longer have any leverage to ensure we get a decent product....

No surprise there.

Soon all the rules and regulations enforced on the rest of the EU will be standard over here.

Welcome to the United States of Europe.

Why would they want to 'ban refunds'? Exactly what benefit is there to this? I think this just shows what a deluded bunch of s these lot really are.

I presume they purchase st just like the rest of us? I'd like to assume that if they get faulty goods they like to get their money back too? But I'm going to take a wild guess that these fkers are so far in the trough that when their goods are faulty they just throw it out and buy a brand new one?

Seriously, where's the logic? "refunds are for peasants!"

"Ministers have vowed to fight the Consumer Rights Directive but the UK Government has no power to stop the change if it is backed by the majority of European Union states."

Well maybe if they'd stopped the kilted stwit finding his way to the Lisbon Treaty we wouldn't be in this clusterfk.

Are we even sure he signed the right document?

No doubt the EU BUREAUCRATS are on the same gravy train our MP's "Were" on, buy it on expenses, if its faulty, so what, bin it at the tax payers and buy another one at taxpayers expense.

As the alternative is all other countries introduce it.

They wont, so we have to have it.

Nothing the UK Government can do about it either.

Well thats just buggered M&S / John Lewis etc all of whom have built great and well deserved reputations on no quible returns.

Just makes me happy that we all voted on this and it's not just something foisted onto us by a few delusional socialist in London

Except grow some balls and refuse to put it to parliament.

Last I checked, all laws still need to pass through that process...?

But can now be over ruled by European Parliament.

The EU can force us to do what we like now thanks to the Lisbon Treaty.

I bet there were people who said that when they decided on banning imperial measurements

Replace their windows with wood, too. There's bugger all they'll be able to do about it.

I would like to point out that while this does mean that stores that choose to apply a "No refunds" policy, it wont stop shops that want to allow refunds.

Shoppers will probably stop shopping in those stores and they will be forced to bring back their old policy.

I wouldn't worry too much.

Worse still, if the law is passed retailers will be banned from “gold-plating” the legislation by continuing to offer money- back guarantees.
