I try to be civilised about things, I try to think that the death penalty is wrong, because if we as a society kill someone how is it any better than someone being killed in the street, we must be better than that.

But then you hear of cases like this, where the victims are just children, I mean it is the ultimate betrayal of human nature and any kind of empathy to do this to another person but to do it to a child is just plain evil. It makes me sick to the pit of my stomach.

At the very least these animals should rot in prison, but one of them will be back on the streets in 5 years, the other in 10, how is that justice, the children concerned will never recover. Sentences like this leave me stunned, in my opinion this is one of the worst crimes anyone can commit, you should never be allowed to see the light of day again if you do this.

I hope they see some real justice during their time in prison, but its sad to see that the dispersal of real justice is being left to criminals in prisons, when the people who could do something about this (politicians and lawmakers) do nothing. God it makes me mad.

It wouldn't surprise me, n'or would I judge the families of the victims if they were to exact a bloody and horrible revenge on these monsters, I don't even want to begin to imagine what it must be like to find out something like this has been happening to your child.

I'm sure many Plod would be privately thinking the same thing as others no doubt are.

A 5 year old child is raped and turns to the assailants brother for protection, who in turn rapes the chiild also...

I'm sorry, did I just read 10 years (5 years) and 5 years (2.5 years) in jail . . . for raping children?

it's funny (not the story my anecdote!) that the justice is left to be dished out in prison. I actually like this idea. My mate's sister was attacked and beaten half to death by a wannabe rapist. He had his neck slit inside (right across the back!! nice!!) wouldn't have had that done by police and my mate isn't a suspect as he wasn't inside with him! Justice is served!

These two? Yes, I could kill them, and I'd be rather pleased with myself for doing it too.

Now, how come they've lived in Scotland for 10 years yet the Judge had to speak through an interpreter?

The problem is, even if we had the death penalty in a similar format to the US, these scum wouldn't be put to death. I'd prefer it if we took the Saudi approach, be-headings and crucifixions!
