without wishing to sound horrible, but what was the trouble with getting him 'out' of an Atom...he's already 'out' in a way.

I corrected the French as I think it was before they arrived but the story says he hit a bridge pillar at full speed so I imagine he would have been pretty wrapped up in the car.

Are you as retarded as that comment suggests, because burning to death isn't the most pleasant way to go.

It is rather hard to assume good faith with that kind of idiocy isn't it?

Are you suggesting Prince Phillip killed him?

I can only assume that he was talking about dieing whilst fulfilling his passion for driving.

Still, maybe not phrased the best way smile

a mate of mine in Paris with contacts said apparently the speedo was stuck over 260kph on the wreckage and there is some talk of drink or drugs but I guess if you hit a concrete pillar at that speed it don't matter what your driving. Princess Di was in a big Merc & that wasnt as fast. feel sorry for the guy but guess it was quick.

I wouldn't take too much notice of that - a lot can happen in a crash. 260kph is over 161mph, which I think is more than even a supercharged Atom can achieve (and it would need a considerable distance to get there). I'm not saying he wasn't shifting though, it's all too easy/tempting sometimes. Not a nice way to go - we can only hope he didn't know too much about it. RIP

yea I think your right it was maybe 240kph on the speedo, I know I worked it out to about 140mph in my head when I was talking to my mate. i wonder how much they can download from the black boxes. oh well never did James Deans fame any harm killing himself in his Porsche speedster. way to go i guess.
