Did anyone see the front page of the Express today re this?

I didn't buy it, but I noticed that it was talking about banks intending on charging for account withdrawals in light of other charges being scrapped - or something like that.

Hopefully this will be hyperbole though, the notion really pisses me off yes

It would only work if every single bank colluded to implement this at exactly the same time.

Thats the story. After you've read the headline, read the penultimate paragraph

British Bankers Association said:
The British Bankers’ Association last night, trying to quash fears of any imminent changes, said: “There are no current plans to end free banking, either for cashpoints or current accounts.”
I'm surprised they didn't try to blame the EU for it rolleyes

One credit card, pay for everything on it, then pay off every month. Alternative is to open a bank account with a single yearly fee, something that some banks already do smile

......and then in come the Bank of China and offer a decent service.

Banklays Bark are bloody lucky to have my money, really, they are st and the only reason I'm with them is that they hooked me at Uni and I haven't bothered to change them since.

I am an emmigrant waiting to happen, all they have to do is introduce something like this and I will up sticks to a better service. Unless it is made law, it would never happen.....

This law would cause people to pull more cash out at a time IMO.
