I'm currently writing to my local (Labour) MP regarding Winky's pissing away of £1.5billion of our money.

Anyway I am trying to get some facts to shove in his treasonous face but I'm struggling to get decent figures.

Anyway these are what I'm after:

Number of UK Income tax payers.
The current UK national debt level
This years budget defecit
Current unemployment levels

If anyone has any other good figures they would be appreciated.

Also can anyone tell me what an MP's salary is?

I'm currently trying to get and then run through his expenses claims.

The basic salary for an MP is in the region of £60,000. It's actually not all that much all things considered - which is one of the reasons why they all seemed to try to boost their income levels using the Expenses System.

Your letter sounds like it may end up being a bit of a rant. To elicit a sensible and pertinent reply, keep your point simple. Don't wander off topic ranting and raving about anything and everything.

I wrote to my MP a couple of yaers ago regarding the Parliamentary Reform Bill (which was abandoned becsuse of opposition within the House of Commons).

It's mostly secret and not the sort of thing you can easily find with a simple internet search.

£1.5 Billion?

He has pissed away a lot more than that!

Or do you just mean this week? Actually that isn't right our debt went up by £12 Billion in October alone.

Our current national debt is £1,340 billion which is 103.5% GDP.

I take it you're referring to the money he's promised to piss up the wall at Copenhagen this last week?
If so,it may be best to hold your fire as the Tories are calling him to account for these figures tomorrow in Parliament. This may give you some additional facts and amunition.
Best regards.

If you could mention that National Debt Interest is costing the taxpayer about 30 Billion a year then I would appreciate it.

Although thats an old figure (early 2009) sure its probably alot higher now.

I have a question too. I've just found out my local council is planning to install speed humps in the estate for safety. There have only been two serious pedestrian injuries in the last 3 years (council's own figures). How should I go about making a complaint to the council?

First of all, find out who your local councillor is. That shouldn't be too hard.

Do a Google search for your local authority and the ward you live in.

The sad thing is that you may find that the installation of humps may not be due to a Council decision. Local Councils can be overridden by the County Council or by Quangos - such as the Highways Agency.

I think it's council - I've found a committee report online. It sounds like such marginal gain but they're doing it anyway, god knows why. Some safety target they have to achieve I suppose.

You don't actually seem to know very much but you're ready to complain about it anyway?

Did I say I was going to complain about his salary? I just like to have correct figures before I enter into dialogue.

I suppose these facts would get in the way of your cretinus ranting, why don't you ps off.

If it's to be in reference to the Copenhagen lie then surely you wish to refer to data regarding the alleged AGW and the content of the e-mails?

What exactly is your fking problem?

So I don't walk around knowing every single financial fact about the government. Does that mean that i am not allowed to be unhappy with our governments actions.

If you haven't got anything helpful to add why don't you just leave alone you miserable tit.
