In the Digital Economy Bill:

Clause 11:
The Secretary of State may at any time by order impose a technical obligation on internet service providers if the Secretary of State
considers it appropriate in view of—
(a) an assessment carried out or steps taken by OFCOM under section 124G;
or
(b) any other consideration.

Any other consideration? what the F! According to Slashdot "Such orders would not require the scrutiny of parliament, or anyone else for that matter, because the Secretary of State would not be required to publish them."

So they can, for any reason, see what you do online, and cut you off.

Quite ironic that two unelected twunks are pushing through a bill that requires no oversight.

Life has changed dramatically for the worse under Labour, so I have to assume you have a short memory or are not old enough to remember or perhaps have not made a note of the UK's political history.

Do the government not employ anyone who is technically capable? It would be impossible to enforce.

Technically capable of asking for lots of money to find out they can't do it, yes.

I remember perfectly well. I remember things being bad under the torries as well do you have rose tinted glasses? This bunch of s are worse though, you will get no argument from me about that.

I juts remember the blues being just as controling and dont think if this bill makes it that they will bust a gut to repeal it.

Devil's Kitchen already wrote a post about this here. He points out that it is only one of many laws that remove power from parliament and put them in the hands of ministers via clauses such as this one.

It is an abrogation of democracy, and is being hidden in plain sight. The damage these clowns do to this country knows no bounds, and them getting re-elected would be an utter disaster.

In what way- isn't this already what they do in Iran/China/Vietnam? If it pistonheads offends the SoS, he can legally put us on a blacklist such that no UK ISP will connect to that address. They already do it voluntarily:

But if they didn't get re elected, a hung parliament for example, they could carry on regardless because it's the ministers that have the power. They have less and less need to go through parliament.
