Actually sounds like a very good idea to me. If a little restrained in this particular instance. I do hope they ignored any pleasantries like anaesthetic (I rather suspect they will).

I remember thinking similar here:

Justice? Barbarism? Both?
It's apalling, but at the same time strangely difficult to argue against.

Strange how a lot of people who spout on against sharia law seem to like the old testament style punishments dished out by it. I've been reading up a bit on it recently and a lot of it does make sense - apart from its treatment of sdultery and rape. Did you know that under sharia adultery can be commited without consent, and the punishment that applies is the same as if it was with consent. so, for instance, if a married woman is raped by an unmarried man he will get flogged whereas she will be stoned to death. I can't see how that is possibly just.

Thats a lot different to what I had read. I've read that an abandonment from the victim (suggesting time is a healer) by everyone and/or from the area of the incident is best for a certain ammount of time, whereas the rapist needs killing. Different what different sects of a religion believe. It depends on how the translation is made as one word could have several meanings. Not all of it has to be from an extreme perspective.TotalControl said:
