Hmmm - is every incident with every child in every country in the world going to get this type of headline treatment?

Although this is a very upsetting story - it is in Brazil, not Lewes.

Where is the coverage of yesterday's double killing in Aldershot? A disgruntled dad shot dead his four year old child, critically injured the mother and then shot himself dead.

Now that IS shocking and local (VERY local to me, in fact).

I heard that on the radio this morning, the part i found shocking about this story was that a father could torture his own small son and over a long period.

First I heard about it was on the way home and the police had the road blocked off.

I can never work out what goes through a fathers mind to make him do this to his child frown doesn't matter how much you hate your ex why take the life of an innocent child.

Had this conversation last night with hubby. His take was may be he couldn't deal with the prospect that his kid may be raised by e.g. another bloke (pure speculation as don't know background to the break up etc) however at end of day he is a coward as he killed himself aswell. Personally I can't see any possible reason to reach the idea of killing your kid as the only option.

Reminds me of the former-millionaire businessman who killed his family and burnt his house to the ground.

Lost me there, Eric. Can't remember sticking needles in people being a popular pastime in Lewes.

harsh as it may seem i am glad to hear that. It would have been terrible for her to have recovered and had to live with what had happened to her daughter. She would also have blamed herself for what happened .

Deeply tragic story.

Nope, not weird at all. Tradition is what happens in Lewes.
