Do any PHers have a Panic Room? Have you ever had to use it?

Yes. It's the room where we have our project review meetings.

There are some people who really need panic rooms. Either because they are the innocent victim of a psychopath, or because (and these are in the minority) they bring it upon themselves.

This chap is somewhere in-between in my mind. He's a cartoonist doing what cartoonist's do - but he should have thought it through fully before having it published (as should the paper publishing it!).

He needed that panic room - who knows, this may not be the first time something like this has happened to him.

What I don't understand is the fact that the attacker has been charged with attempted manslaughter. How does that even work? If he tried to kill him its attempted muder surely?

Those that have them aren't likely to admit to having them.

If you need one, should you be outside it? I mean, what if you're in the garden and need to be in it and the attacker is in the way?

A few months ago I was whiling away an idle moment browsing a property website, when I saw a property I thought I recognised locally, I read the blurb, and then clicked the floorplan. Advertised on the main estate agents website was the floorplans for the house, including the panic room (elevator access)

Don't think that was the best idea...

Yep, the utility room.

It's where I keep the shotguns, an axe, a couple of knives, cleaning products and the laundry mountain. If the weapons don't put people off (unlikely as they're not on display) the ironing pile will smile

I got one, it's called the toilet.

It has a heater and a loo, so when your really scared you can st yourself and not feel embarrassed about it. Plus its warm and has a copy of 'Redline' in it too.

I heard the guy who broke in was trying to get into the panic room so presumably they're not secret rooms, but more like a room that would take >5 mins to break into?

nono

He was exercising the same freedom of expression as that accorded to all the various ignorant superstitious godbothering twunts who claim that their unpleasantly authoritarian delusional witterings should be specially privileged.

I am offended by much of the nonsense spouted by the religious but I don't feel I have any right to go about killing them.

Do you think he deserves what has happened to him?
