BBC website bias
Discussion
I know this is a bit of a hot topic on here, but bear with me.
I was told the other week by a BBC employee that the section of law that outlines the BBC's neutrality is not applicable to the website. Something to do with it being old and not relevant to modern digital (ie internet) mediums.
The person in question is not in the legal department or even on the news desk so credibility could be dubious, but seemed to act as though this was quite common knowledge within the company.
Not familiar with that section of the law myself but do you think there is any truth to it?

There was a piece on BBC News 24 yesterday going on about 'Tory' polices. Or rather the BBC political adviser was saying how the 'Tory' polices "lacked substance" and were rather "thin on the ground", unlike the Labour policys which showed "real leadership" and "the strength and courage to help the masses, not the privalidged few".
So, the Beeb. Not biased at all then?
depends if its true or not shurely. So, the Beeb. Not biased at all then?

I wondered that myself a couple of days ago when a presenter said something to the effect of "Gordon Brown warns that voting for the Tory's will wreck the recovery". In type, of course, we can chuck things in parentheses, making it clear the origin of the claim. But speaking aloud, surely it should be "Gordon Brown has claimed that voting for the conservatives would wreck the recovery"?
Regarding the website point- no idea.

I doubt that there's any truth in this zac. The BBC has to stick to their agreement. It was last published in 2006, so would include online too.
BBC Agreement.
BBC Agreement.
Of course there is bias! They all do it, they all get away with it in the creep, creep manner. A bit here. A bit there. Hope they don't notice. If 'we' do notice, an apology, an error, a mistake...
SKY does the same with climate change - I'm sick of seeing 'Emma Hurd reports' - now using the poor bl**dy Penguins as bait in the climate change brainwashing. They never give up.
I heard 'could' and 'might' in every ruddy sentence she and the other wet-behind-the-ears (well-paid for it) protagonists uttered this evening.

Bear in mind that the traditional control enjoyed by the ruling classes and the media/usual channels appear to be giving away to a people's communication.SKY does the same with climate change - I'm sick of seeing 'Emma Hurd reports' - now using the poor bl**dy Penguins as bait in the climate change brainwashing. There is a paradigm shift in process.
It's a part of the growing gulf between the politicos "do as we say" and the electorate "you're taking the piss".
Sadly things have to change.
You guys need to be reading the "Biased BBC" blog, which I have been following for some time.
It has pointed out that the BBC's news editor is a member of an organisation committed to spreading the - well he calls it propaganda - of climate change.
Today's posting (which links historical with recent BBC news website postings) highlights how the BBC's take on an absence of rainfall in the wettest place on earth has - over the course of its reporting for the last few years - changed from being caused by deforestation, industrialisation and associated over-population to the much more palatable (to the BBC) - the overly-simplistic "climate change" moniker.
It is well worth tracking this blog. It has no position with regard to climate change, but it is digging up lots of evidence suggesting that the editorial team at the BBC most certainly do.
