Its complete idiocy, but something about that story makes me smile. Just the thought of two buffoons deciding it'd be a good idea to drive on a frozen canal....would love to have heard the conversation leading up to that decision....

I don't actually think they deserve to be charged, assuming they were both willing to do it, weren't drunk in charge and didn't cause any damage to anything but their own motor. Bill them for recovery maybe.

Agreed. The whole being on the BBC and being shown to be a complete muppets is punishment enough.

I'd be very tempted if i had a canal like that near me....mgith save the ice driving till i can get to finland though.

I wonder if Ice road truckers was on TV on sunday?
I hear there is a new series of truck drivers driving across the ice and not having any problems, and certainly not falling in, which looks very exciting!

The ice those trucks drive on is several feet thick..
