Here

Musings:

I thought they had to give you water already?

Who's going to buy the smaller measures when all that means is you'll just end up paying more and waste even more time queuing at the bar?

I've been to a few tenner-all-you-can-drink things and as there are still the same amount of bar staff I found it didn't increase the amount I drunk, it just cost me a lot less money.

Why are blue and red on the same page about this issue?

Lastly, when did Pete Burns get so bloody scrawny?

they want to be "seen to be doing something" in effect it's all nonsense and making stuff cost more is just lazy policy making. They brought in a whole raft of new rules up here in Scotland already, they want to do minimum pricing next. Brilliantly there was a story on the paper about a whole load of the crime reports involving buckfast tonic wine. Buckfast is already too expensive to be affected by the proposed increase yet people still buy it.

The problem isnt alcohol, the problem is the generation of chavved up fkwits this country has bred with no skills or desire to do anything except get fked all the time. Maybe if we didnt work the longest hours in europe the populace wouldnt be so inclined to get drunk quite so much. We're also behind several countries in the drinking league anyway, Ireland and bloody Luxembourgh to name but 2. Its a non problem theyve dreamt up to give themselves jobs. The problem are the pondlife scum ruining it for everyone, but we cant just jail them or stick them on a fking walled island, oh no, the middle classes must be punished rolleyes

That's the reason I got so vehement in the "Am I going to Jail?" post in SP&L. This government - or the next - need no excuses to persecute middle class, middle age social drinkers. Certainly not some tt who goes ahead and buys booze for minors and then is surprised when the get nicked for it. Hopefully he'll get a nice big fine for it and then tell the kids to fk off next time they ask him to buy their Buckfast. Unless of course they're the fit 17 year old birds mentioned later on in the thread winkpaperbag
