Rather than have this expense in clear cut cases like this where there is no doubt he committed murder I say that the death penalty should be imposed.

I take it from that last quote this man is about to become a possible danger on our streets(wouldnt be the first time somebody didn't take their medication). Fantastic, if this man kills again the immigration judge should face charges as well.

And murderers who are acquitted many years after conviction? It's a bit late to say sorry when the state has them buried 6 feet under.

What will you be paying for?
The 19 years he's alreay spent in a secure hospital.
The cost of his 2 murders.
The drugs that are seemingly so expensive that he could not get them in his home country.
His likely future life in a secure hospital here.
If freed, a life of supervision ,drugs and the 99.99% that he'll never work again so will get everything paid for on the outside.

Piss boiler for sure, but the precedent was set many years ago.

If we did have the death sentence, he would probably be still alive (under the undoubted appeals procedures that MUST be followed when death is the punishment) and his costs to the UK taxpayer would undoubtedly be much higher than they have been.

Or do you believe we should sumarilly execute those who are found guilty, with limited or no appeal - like China.

I would prefer to live in an insecure democaracy rather than a secure totalitariamn state.

I never called for a death sentence, I objected to the fact that the main reason given for his stay he is the possible lack of drugs to treat him in his home country, and that can only be money related.
I would rather the the NHS sent a parcel full of drugs once a month, than the continue covering the cost of him living here in total care.
