This really is worth a listen, it sounds like pure common sense to me !!

I'm guessing some of you will already have heard of this guy.

He was laughed at, and ridiculed when he predicted the financial crisis back in 2005/06, but was proved correct.

There is also a ton of other stuff on Youtube featuring this guy.

He is now running for the senate.

Now I know this guy is American, but I really think much of this is also relevant to the UK, as we are following basically the same policies, but are in a worse position to do it.

Why can't we have a Peter Schiff in the UK ?????

Oh yes Fred Harrison, I'd forgotten about him.

Seen a few of his presentations on youtube, well worth a watch.

I guess you could call him UK's answer to Peter Schiff.

Did he predict that his funds would underperform the benchmark?

Yes I know he took some flak for the way his funds performed in 2008, but as I remember he stood up very well against that critisism on the TV at the time, and think his positions have more than recovered since then.

Have you got a link as I couldn't find evidence either way

I can't give you a specific link, but I watch all of his TV appearances that are posted on his website. There are also numerous youtube vids with him in, and he has said on a number of occasions that all the losses from '08 have more than recovered.

But i'm not trying to say the guy is infallable, or everything he says is 100% correct. I just agree with his general outlook, and way of thinking.

Anybody who tries to predict everything to the day is bound to look a mug at some point.

there are always Casandras who predict bad things. Eventually, they will always be right. Such people are mostly charlatans.

I don't think this guy could be classed as a charlatan.

...and generally his predictions came true quickly, and accurately.

His future predictions only time will tell.

But from a UK point of view, I do believe the worst is yet to come.

Gordon Brown has just put some very shaky props under the economy to get him to the election, and has been very irresponsible with our money / currency / country's future along the way.

Who knows what will happen after the election, but I'm guessing it aint gonna be nice. (Whatever government we get)

I've just watched some of his TV appearances on youtube, and he seems to have generally very similar views to Schiff.

....and if they are not depressing enough then try watching some Marc Faber !!

Aren't most Pollyanna economists also wrong about the future? The thing I take from the last few years is experts have little idea how the future will pan out, so you'd be a mug to pay for their advice.
