Never use Oxford Street anymore - not becasue of the busses and taxis but because of the dawdling brain-dead pedestrians.

Giving the peds there more room to spread out will only alleviate this issue slightly.

Running them over is a bit extreme. A manual car, however, with a loud engine/exhaust. allows you to make them jump in an amusing way.
