£9,700,000 lottery winner Michael Carroll has blown the lot, and is now back on the dole....

Words fail me. Apart from two, 'fking' & 'Idiot'.....

Just how much

and hookers would you need before you'd got just a little bored?

Or you could have a fantastic house, a collection of uber-cars, fine watches, kids at great schools and holidaying at beautiful locations? You would, wouldn't you?

What an arse, £9.7 million has got to be at an absolute minimum £291,000 a year after tax to live on. Who can't deal with that?

Well I suppose one good thing is that the money found its way back into the economy in a relatively short time...

Only thing that bothers me is that the tax payer now has to pay this pond life £42 a week dole.

Ah you forgot to take into account inflation.

Interest at 3% PA and inflation at 2.5% gives you a return of 45k pa.

Still not bad but not as much as you would think.

They came across as sensible, maybe they're holding on to some of it until he grows up? They're going to be waiting a long time wink

I wonder what happened to his first party house he was run out of. Does he still own it, if not who does?

2000 hookers??? Where the hell did he find that amount? yikes

I wouldn't worry about the £42 a week that we have to pay him. I'm guessing he'll end up found dead very soon. Drugs or he'll get into a fight he can't get out of.

thats if you don't touch the capital amount, but if you stuck in a bond you'd be pretty darn sure to make more than £45k from 10mil- a150k rental property will make you £7k/yr easy- with a bit of tax work you'd clear £400k/yr on a long term appreciating asset.
