I dont see how the olympic officials have concluded it was not a unsafe track. Surley if there were not concrete posts next to the track on the exit of a bend it would of been a lot safter

Shocking footage, at least he would have felt nothing from that impact. There should be at least a perspex screen down that side of the luge to cover the posts.http://abcnews.go.com/Health/video/nodar-kumaritas...

Whoever designed and operated that track wants bloody well locking up. Lethal, with unprotected steel beams and uprights without the most basic of impact protection or safety precautions. There's even a stretcher lying on the walkway next to the track which he appears to bounce off. A completely avoidable tradegy.http://abcnews.go.com/Health/video/nodar-kumaritas...

There's always a certain amount of soul searching after an event like this.
However, these chaps take part in such sports knowing full well the dangers present. Indeed, it's what makes it exciting for them.
I am always concerned when the "we must make it safer" brigade begin to jump on the bandwagon.
