Completely out of context. They aren't medals and they aren't being awarded for just visiting Afghanistan. Tehy reward MPs who meet a strict criteria of long service with the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme (20 days a year, in uniform etc).

Far more important things to get worked up about frankly.
