(hope this isn't a repost.)
Rumour is that all the BBC political staff are to be on call this weekend as winky is going to name the day. Before the Tory spring conference, before Brown has to go in front of Chilcott and before the next trade figures show that we are back in recession.
I'll go for March 25th.

What is the last date possible?
June 3rd, although I'm not sure how that works, as the last election was 5/5/05.Edit:
Bob Ainsworth:
"I think they will wake up and rue the day if they wind up with a Conservative government in charge of this country after 6th May,"
Andy Burnham:
"I hope you will add your weight in whatever way you can to this campaign and, if we focus on it, we can have changed a little piece of the law by May this year."
Chris Bryant:
“I hope that by the time of the general election on May 6, relations will have improved.”
I didn't realise that there have been so many slip-ups. Either it's some Labour trickery, or they are incapable of keeping their mouths shut.

50-50 March V May
They've certainly been trying to fool the stupid into thinking that there has been some sort of change / brown isn’t a sociopath /the economy is getting better.
It's going to be an interesting year, even if a labour victory means leaving the UK would increase the possibility of emigrating

I still think that he will go early.
No need for the budget - just aspirational [-]lies[/i] promises to spend £ on s
te.
No Chilcott.
Reduces the chances of more revolts.
Running with the "Brown Bounce" as he didn't get too much of a slamming for being a bully.
Why would he wait?
So - March 25th OR April 2nd...but that is the day before Good Friday and would be in the Easter recess.

I guess having only 2 or 3 weeks as an election run up would negate one of the Tories key strengths and that is their money. Labour are skint and can't afford a long campaign, but the Tories can.
The tories have had an opportunity to gloat, score goals and win without a campaign, that was for free and they avoided it. If they avoid the free stuff, I expect they'll avoid the expensive stuff.
Poor performance IMO.
