Cretin? For all we know the cup of tea was microwaved. They're served in stty cups with flimsy lids—it really isn't too much to expect McDonalds to serve their food in suitable containers, is it?

If that drink was so hot it caused that much damage to his leg, then it was clearly far too hot to drink.

Good grief. When I make a cup of tea, it's too hot to drink and would burn me if I chucked it over my leg. That's the point of tea, isn't it? It's hot? What I don't do is to try to drink it whilst in a moving car.

What a tt! I really do wonder about the intellect of the average Brit. Boiling drink in car! He should be done for carrying dangerous liquids.

Please will the court have some common sense and throw the case out when it gets there.

Besides that McD Tea and Coffee is vomit

And if you recieve a cup, with a boiling liquid in it, you should check to see if the lid is firmly on.

Well I probably speak for myself, but that's what I would do...

In any case, we all know the correct order is large Mac meal, fizzy Fanta, cheeseburger for a starter. Quite what this chap was doing with tea is beyond me.

I wonder how fast they were going over the "5mph" speedbump in order to cause the lid to come off?

Surely this incompitent fcensoredkwit must have realised that tea is served hot, what did he expect............. cold tea.

He should have been more carefull when driving away, and I bet his girlfriend REALLY DID drive away at 5mph over a speed bump. (Yeah bks)

Perhaps he should just sort his life out and stop being such a poof, I have had far worse burns than this and I did not sue anyone or cry like a little girl. GROW A FcensoredING BACKBONE furious

Something ain't right about this!

Everyone in the world knows that McDonalds hot drinks are an additional phase of matter, anyone who doesn't handle it with serious amounts of care is an idiot. If the cup had failed then there is more of a case than someone who holds a hot drink over their leg whilst driving over speed bumps.

The guy's right. What kind of company serves hot tea ffs? Lukewarm dry tea is the safest tea. You can't spill it, for a start.

Isn't he ashamed that he spilt tea on his lap? tt.

Totally with you on this one. The last time McDonalds were in trouble for this, they were using coffee that had stagnated and to overcome this, boiled it to a much higher temperature than they should have done (way past boiling point) for a lot longer. This made it taste as it should, even though it shouldn't have been on sale.

Yes, the bloke is a cretin for spilling it. If he was the passenger, it should have been easy for him to look after the cup, but that's irrelevant as normal coffee wouldn't do that much damage, especially if he's wearing trousers. My guess is, McDonalds have enough money to not worry about law suits and took the risk to over-boil gone off coffee again.
