Just why do the PH massive keep saying "the country is ruined" OWTTE, I don't see what is *that* wrong.

Granted the chav underclass, but you get that anywhere, be it France/USA/Oz/NZ and so on.

But do, go on. I quite like the UK. smile

Step off a plane in the UK, and you'll soon discover why this country is so screwed up.

I'm not joking either. You will be barraged by notices telling you what you can and cannot do. I don't mean "Don't use your phone in the Immigration area", I mean everywhere.

There are some stairs and there is a warning. There is an escalator, there are 5 warnings, there are audio warnings all over the place "don't do this, don't do that". And remember, if you step out of line there is some Nazi ready to tell you off, and slap you with a fine.

I was sitting next to a bus in some traffic a few months ago (in the UK of course). I was next to the middle double doors. Whilst I was sitting there, I counted something in the region of 18 warning notices about the operation of the doors! 18 warning stickers for some fking doors!?!

The jobsworths are running the UK. And they are finding more and more ways to be irritating.

And lets not get onto law and order, where a parking fine is more than a fine for theft. Where a speeding fine has a "victim" levy. Where leaving your bins out on the wrong day can result in a criminal record!

13 years of Bliar and Brown, lies, spin and nest feathering by the politicians who claim to care about the country but have a funny way of showing it.

Ok, lets put this into persepective.

These figures are for JUST the last year.

The country has overspent by £180,000,000,000.

If there are 20,000,000 taxpayers (there are probably more people working but don't forget that a lot of people are not in the tax system because they don't pay tax or get their PAYE back in benfits)

Each taxpayer has to pay another £9,000 EACH on average.

That is just to break-even. If every taxpayer paid another £9,000 each, we won't even have paid back a penny of the deficit. That is an EXTRA £9,000 in addition to all of the existing taxes we pay now.

Tell me that isn't screwed up!

Far too much stuff like this:

Oh and the very real and dangerous possibility that Winky & The fkwits might actually get elected (for the first time/again).

One or two other things as well!

Small minded little Englanders.

The politics & economics subforum is full of hysterics that think the world as we know it is about to end - and the BBC is part of the problem because they don't reply to every email that they send, personally - and of course only poor people vote Labour - and all taxes are wasted - and we can't fight the Argies any more, because our forces are crap,(forgetting that just before '82' Thatcher got rid of our last AIRCRAFT CARRIER capable of putting a CAP) - they also hate people pointing out Conservatives past failings.

They also claim they're politically objective but think the only party they can vote for is a cross between the UKIP and BNP, because they share some narrow agenda, normally, "I don't want to pay for stuff I don't like".

Basically, Daily Mail readers, a bunch of folks that think being reactionary and selfish is a good thing.

Guess my name is MUD again.

(Don't mention Climate Change.(although they're right - but hysterical))

Any society requires "guidance" - laws, rules, guidelines, etc. However....

Let's view life/society as a road. Wide enough for all and these "guidances" the armocos either side.

What's happening here is that the we can see the width of the road remains amply wide but the armcos are getting closer and closer together.

What age are you?

You sound like you are too young to know what a little bit of freedom feels like.

What freedom have you lost personally?

Because freedom is, of course, something only older folks know of.

There are plenty of laws that have been changed.

For instance, how about the right to be presumed innocent - unless caught by a speed camera. How about the new rights of a traffic warden to look at your private emails to see if you've committed an offense, and so forth.

Plenty of little things have been changed. Glad you've kept up with any of them.

I know, lets protest outside Parliament! Dang, can't even do that.

I mean - how seriously fked up is the UK when you can't demonstrate outside our own house of representatives because Toby Blur got annoyed looking at an anti-war demonstrator every time he turn up at the House?

4300 new laws in 13 years.

Very nearly 1 a day every day they've been in power.

What's wrong with this country is that no one has burned parliament down as a result.

Do you mean the healthy economy handed to Labour in 97?

Or the clean hospitals?

Or the controlled immigration?

Or the legal war?

Or the lower violent crime stats?

Or the better educated children?

Or the free society without constant meddling?

Or the respect from other world leaders / nations?

Or the lack of lies / spin?

etc etc

that sort of failure you mean?
