Careful, the BBC isn't exactly whiter than white!

(Not defending The Daily Mail by any means...)

Indeed Brown's Broadcasting Corporation has it's own agenda too.

The assertion in that article that the Daily Soov is Britain's most influential paper is terrifying.

Absolutely.

Anyone know what their readership (if reader is the right word) is? Do more people really read the mail over any other tabloid rag?

When schools finished go next door to the church. You'll be serviced there. (allegedly)

The Currant Bun is the most popular but the Mail still has over 2 million blue rinsed HRT-fuelled readers and lawyer/traders, gnashing their teeth at the effect binge-drinking Muslim immigrants are having on house prices.

The gutter end of the press will always publish without facts so long as they know that any damages will likely be less than the profit from putting such comedy headlines on the front page

Simple solution, if they lose in court, they must devote 10x the column inches to an apology as they did to the original article, every day for a week.

That way if they have some lies and drivel taking up half the front page and another page inside, with an opinion article later on, they'd have to devote the first eight pages or so of their paper for a week to apologising, it'd be up to them to fill them

Have you seen how many PH'ers link to the Mail in these forums? That alone is quite scary.

It's only scary if newspaper snobbery / any other snobbery floats your boat really.

I read the BBC news, Daily Mail, Sun, Independant, Metro and Guardian while I have free time and I am waiting to do other things. Does not bother me in the slightest.

I also shop at Waitrose / Sainsburys / Tesco / Lidl / Aldi or Morrisons - depending on which is nearest or wherever I need to get certain things.

I sometimes wear designer labels, or a suit from Tesco - depending on use and need.

Try to live snobbery free for a while, its very liberating. You can read or do what you want, without caring what other people think.

I don't think it is snobbery though. The whole supermarkets stuff that crops up on here from time to time is about snobbery but mocking Mail readers isn't. I reckon Mail readers are probably the worse kind of snobs as they look down on all us dirty Sun readers as we don't read a "proper" paper - which the Mail patently isn't it.

I just went to the Mail site to see what the big story is. You have to love this headline.

"Body found buried under patio of house owned by former associate of Reggie Kray now suffering terminal cancer"

I am confused - is it the house, the dead body or Reggie Kray who has cancer.

That's fine, don't read the article or the paper then - you don't HAVE to.

I read it as well, it made little sense so I moved on.

I treat it the same as if I have some teenager trying to tell me about their latest "zorst" on their car, I simply wonder off to find something that is more interesting.

Some of the stories on there are interesting, and have a basis in truth. The key is to separate the truth from the rubbish, usually backed up by other places. The other places sometimes print rubbish. At the end of the day, all media are there to sell stories and all have their level of crap set at certain levels.

Spot on. Out of all the papers I think the Mail has to be admired for persistently hitting their demographic with the sort of stories that they will love.

There seems very little difference when it comes to the likes of the traditional broadsheets.

Off topic I know, but you mean that if some lad who has a passion for cars (like most on here) starts talking about his car to you, you simply wander off and ignore him.....all because you don't find it interesting.

Charming.

If they speak properly and enthusiastically about their car, then I find it interesting.

Are you saying that you would find a stereotype idiot going on about his "ICE" and his "Wikkid sub" and his "Dropped shocks" and his "massive zorst" on his mums £200 Vauxhall Nova interesting?

I used the term "zorst" as I hoped that would make it clear, because it is actually an "exhaust" - obviously I did not make it clear enough.

There are plenty of those idiots around the Bracknell area where I work - I can send them your way if you want to give them a sympathetic ear? Personally I have better things to do.

Ahh the lesser spotted anti-snob.

I don't read the mail but it certainly isn't through snobbery, it's because it's full of utter bullst.
