Labour are for the average joe...
Discussion
Somebody I know who is young, black and homosexual is beggining in politics and I got chatting to him on face book.
Anyway along with his praise for Milliband's comment regarding Cameron putting the con into the conservatives he came out with this beauty;
"I'd rather support Labour who work for the average joe, instead of the Conservatives who are rich people, in favour of policies for other rich people."
Just thought I would share my pain with others.

His ethnicity and sexuality is of course irrelevant
That he thinks this way is simply the result of 13 years of tax payer funded labour party propaganda.
the easiest way to counter it is to show him a list of all the tax raises and failures of labour over the past 13 years, coupled with a simple run down of where they get their money from (Lord Paul and Mandy's finances are a good start) and how that has shaped policy to the detriment of the greater population
I've never understood how, for example, if the Labour party cuts taxes they are seen as 'helping out the working man' but if the Tories cut those SAME taxes they are seen as 'helping out their rich mates' it doesn't make any sense to me at all. (Well it does, the sheeple are morons, but you know what I mean).
If the Labour party win another term then this country faces a very very bleak future indeed. The politics of socialism are extremely dangerous, both socially and economically. I despair sometimes I really do.

Labour is like your kind old Uncle Bill, who always gave you a fiver when he visited. It's only years later that you work out he was stealing the silver from your house.
Point anyone towards the the http://www.debtbombshell.com/ national debt, and ask them how they feel that they personally, and each and every person they know owes £14K. That's where Labour's kindness to the average Joe has come from - our own back pockets.

I tell you what, I applied for the civil service super duper grad scheme and heard f
k all. When I did it again as a black lesbian disabled gypsy, I got the call.
I s
t you not.
A simple look at Ragingdud007's anti white / racist posts, shows labour for the institutionally racist tits they really are
A friend of mine was asked by a canvaser "which party do you usually vote for?". The canvaser seemed quite upset when he replied that the concept of voting for "a usual party" was undemocratic and he considered the local and national policies of each local candidate each election. If only everyone else thought this way and actually thought about the issues, then elections might be worthwhile.
I'm what you'd probably term as an average Joe. I work, have an average income, get by OK, have no debt apart from the mortgage.
I have always lived within my means, but I get stung for extorsionate taxes, and see little return, especially as the main public service that I use is transport - mainly road due to the alternative (rail) costing an arm and a leg.
I now, it would seem, have to bail out all those reckless people and a gormless government who borrowed too much without realising that they actually have to pay all this money back at some point.
I'm not sure how the illegal wars which cost us hundreds of billions benefit me, instead they have (rather understandably) pissed an awful lot of people in the middle east off, whom we now facilitate entry into the country to plot against us. If were were a world centre for mediation and diplomacy, then it wouldn't be such a problem, but we like to fight, don't we?
Still, raise a raft of anti-terrorism laws to track and punish us even more.
If I were rich, I'd afford all the taxes, or better still be able to move away easily. As it stands, I do not benefit at all from Labour. Perhaps I need to sack this notion of working and become a benefits sub-average Joe! Then, perhaps I would!

Even a staunch Labour friend of mine is complaining about all the tax, and the uselessness of the current government!

Labour has favoured low paid parents and the Non working and not squeezed the rich as in the past, but the 13 years of Labour government have been a poor time for the bulk of the population in the middle.
Stealth taxation such as council tax rises have hit them hard and the tax take even in direct taxes has risen through fiscal drag.
An average joe working for the public sector has down well under labour, but not one working for the private sector.
The 10p tax issue said all I need to know about Labour's motives. http://everything2.com/title/10p+Tax+Row
Affects a lot of people in the public sector btw.
