Pete Doherty arrested over drug death of Robin Whitehead
Pete Doherty, the rock star, has been arrested on suspicion of supplying the drugs that killed heiress Robin Whitehead.
The Babyshambles star, 31, was one of four people questioned following the death of the 27-year-old filmmaker.
The body of Miss Whitehead, granddaughter of the late Teddy Goldsmith – founder of The Ecologist magazine – was discovered at a flat in Hackney, east London, on January 24 after paramedics answered a 999 call.
Doherty was arrested in connection with the inquiry on Friday.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "A 31-year-old man was arrested on March 19 on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs. He was bailed to return on a date in April pending further inquiries."
Doherty's friend, Peter Wolfe, 41, who found Robin's body but denied she had taken drugs, has also been arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs and perverting the course of justice.
The flat's owner Gill Samworth, 53, has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and allowing the flat to be used for the supply of drugs.
Musician Alan Wass, 28, was also arrested last Tuesday on suspicion of supplying drugs.
All three have been bailed until April.
Doherty, a friend of Miss Whitehead, said he was "shocked and saddened" following her death.
She had completed a documentary film, The Road To Albion, about Doherty's former band, The Libertines, and spent a lot of time with the singer.
Her website shows pictures of Doherty with his body encased in plaster, lying on a board in a crucifixion pose.
Her mother, Dido Whitehead, is a cousin of Jemima Khan and Zac Goldsmith, and her father is the 1960s filmmaker Peter Whitehead.

Rock star in taking drugs shocker.
Legalise them.
This isn't about him using drugs this is about him dealing drugs to someone who used them and then died.Legalise them.

Although it is likely to be social supply rather than for financial gain. (ie in spiff terms he passed her the joint or picked up a little for her from the dealer as well as for himself, not that he bought an oz for £150 and shifted an1/8 on to her for £25).
Still he really is one 'celeb' I shall be pleased to see the back of however his disappearance from the public conscious is achieved. I really don't hope that he dies young though as that will only encourage a cult around him. A swift and early decline into physical and mental disability, with perhaps a hint of financial ruin and botty selling, would be a good advert though.

Once again I fail to see why there is all this vitriol for Doherty but Keith Richards, Iggy Pop, The Chilli Peppers, The Pixies, Kurt Cobain, etc all did Heroin but are all lauded as Rock Stars.
I guess it comes down to talent and the fact he was shagging Kate Moss....Uhura_Fighter said:

I guess it comes down to talent and the fact he was shagging Kate Moss....Doherty seems to have crossed the boundary between 'fellow star/celeb junkie' and 'junkie pusher eger for new recruits'.
The others did it to themselves and with the exception of Mr 12 bore gob knew where to get off. PD seems to be trying to drag as many down with him as he can.
Doherty is a talentless monkey who has lucked onto the fame game, thats why no-one on here at least likes him. The others listed as scag heads who we respect did have some talent at least, though some of them I have a small reserve of vitriol for too.

I thought the Libertines were good fun- technically lacking but decent music... Shame Doherty is a complete Chernobyl of a man. If the music had been extremely popular (like those mentioned above), I suspect a fair few more people would forgive him
. Unfortunately for him, he's famous enough to get no end of flack, without having an immense talent to make us all forget after a few weeks.

So what if he picked up some drugs for someone? As already mentioned, it'll just be social supplying. Can't say I have any sympathy for a girl who had everything deciding to use smack, it's her choice.
I'm sure the family need to blame someone though, not their precious little girl
