A Home Office campaign stating that police can now be expected to spend 80% of their time on the beat has been banned by the advertising watchdog.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said the advert did not make clear time spent "on the beat" included duties other than foot patrols.

It said the television advert must not be broadcast again in its current form.

The Home Office said it was "extremely disappointed". It said the advert told people what to expect from police.

The ASA said the advertisement broke its rules on being "legal, decent, honest, truthful".
I can't believe they were that brazen with their lies!

Do they know they're lying? Isn't the truth what Labour wants and thinks it is?

They're so deluded and out of touch over most things it looks like they really do believe their own ability to define truth and to control the dissemination of their indoctrination truth.

and this is the spun bbc story.....i seriously think that at the very least all bbc news and related content should be financed by the labour party and unions....and those that dont support labours path to destruction should be allowed to take 30 percent off their licence fee...

We already know but - as above - in a bizarre twist of logic the Home Office apparently don't.

I agree.
While some BBC content is very high quality, I do think that the BBC news (read-propaganda) and 'environmental' (has there been a wildlife/nauaral world comissioned programme that hasn't included MMCC in the past few years?) programmes should each have their own pay per view channel, and be removed from the licence fee.
The bias is now way too blatent in these type of progremmes to be considered even remotely even handed. If the left want to watch their 'pravda' - 'tractor production is up again'-type 'news', then let them pay for it, not me!
