I simply don't believe that Labour has so much support. The media claim all of this close running between Cameron and Brown, but I am not buying it. It just doesn't match with what I hear, understand or know from friends, colleagues and relatives! Some people voted Labour before - that's fine, but without exception, these people WONT this time.
Hung parliament? Not buying it. Cameron has it in the bag and its for him to lose. I think this is all careful management of the real situation to boost support.
Now where is my tin foil hat?

I assume though that you probably don't socialise with many leftie-greeny-socialists?Hung parliament? Not buying it. Cameron has it in the bag and its for him to lose. I think this is all careful management of the real situation to boost support.

Me neither, and my experience is the same as yours. Just because we don't see them doesn't mean they don't exist...
Newspapers or rather the companies that own them, are hugely commercial. Forget any proud notion of “reporting the truth” and the like. They exist to make money. End of. The trouble is that turnover in this industry is vast yet margins are tiny (less than 10% ) so the risk is high.
In short, they need to sell as many papers as they can which means that can also charge higher rates for advertising.
The print media industry has been very good at judging political opinion over the years and tend to lean towards the majority view across the country. The reason is quite simply that people tend not to buy papers that go against their views so the papers have to reflect those views to accommodate and retain their readers. There are exceptions (The Guardian for one) but there you’ll find the margins less tight.
Based on current editorials, I’d say it safe to say that Peter Snow will be showing us a very blue map in a few weeks.
