Nothing you can do about it chap, pull up a chair, open up a bottle of whatever happens to be your poison and enjoy the view.

Umm... not much. After the Haiti disaster quakes have become a hot media topic so everyone of resonable size is getting reported.

To give a little scale. Haiti: 7.2 and 200K dead. Baja/Mexicali: 7.2 and 2 dead.... Now sure, less dense population, but does give a good idea of just how disorganized you have to be when Mexico is efficient enough to take the same level of quake and have no major or even minor problems.

There are no natural disasters just human ones...

It must be the end times, or some sort of conspiracy, OR it could simply be the news topic of the hour?

There is quite a bit of slip waiting to happen in that part of the world; the Haiti 'quake only partially relieved tectonic tensions - expect a few more over the next wee while...

The scary part is that the New Madrid fault, which runs near my part of the world, is potentially a worse quake maker than the San Andreas. yikes

Meh... Plates move... Always have, always will. It just seems worse because we had a few in a short time.

Isn't it all going to shake itself to bits in 2012?

Or was that a different thread?

I was playing a online game with one of my mates in the hills above San Diego when it happened. He had to grab his big ass TV as it was swaying during the quake. And still kept playing though it smile

Was sitting in the departure lounge at LAX when the whole place kind of just "wobbled" for about 30 seconds.....
