I am sure that there will be plenty of jokes flying around about this, but not good... I recall one of the most horrific things I have ever seen was a lorry load of pigs that caught fire on the M3.. I will remember the squeals for the rest of my life....

I know the recovery operator that pulled that job back to their base.
Quite harrowing by all accounts

They ended up getting a Vet to come in and destroy the surviving animals as they had all suffered burns and had started to eat each other.

IIRC a young girl was also killed in the accident as she ran into the back of the truck and thats what caused the fire.

I came upon it about 2 minutes after it happened.. the lorry had hit a small car which had caught fire, and had subsequently spread to the lorry.. I remember saying to some one how horrible it was for the pigs and they conmmented that the driver was still stuck in her car.

The fact that no emergency services were in attendance at the time made it worse..

I herd it wasn't the usual driver, a very careful bloke. Seems this was the stand in driver and he is a little rasher.
