Telegraph - Scotland can benefit from hung Parliament says Alex Salmond

Another factor to ponder in one's vote. If that isn't a Tory call to arms I don't know what is...

Salmond in my local MSP unfortunately!
He's a complete fking waste of space, blood sucking, inneffective, self promoting ....
Soon as I get any of his crowd knocking on my door I'll be asking them why they want my vote and what will they do to improve Scotland if they get a seat in Westminster.
I'll be putting it to them that the best thing they can do is disband the Scottish parliament so that our tax income goes direct into services for Scotland and not a huge fking useless, pointless level of bureacracy that has power to actually do fk all but prevent the money we pay being spent on services for the tax paying public.
I hate the wee scrote more than anyone I can think of, I'm normally very placid but he can wind me up without even opening his mouth!! Any time he opens his mouth he talks absolute ste.

Oh no, I know. The people from Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale seems sensible enough!

Salmond, Brown and Blair. Ok, I probably won't get away with Blair.

+10000, unfortunately for the idle majority (unemployed and public sector), the money for this comic opera just "appears" and it's source has nothing to do with them...,.

The people of Scotland are a decent lot. That is not meant to be patronising, honest.

However, they are let down by the conniving, self promoting bunch of England haters that presently dominate the Labour Party in Westminster. Salmond and his ilk at least are up front in letting you know where they are coming from.

Scotland's future should be in the hands of the Scots people. As far as Scots politicians are concerned, whether from Labour or the SNP, England does not exist except as a Milk Cow to be sucked for money. The sooner Scots stood on their own feet and paid their own way the better. England does not need a bunch of Caledonian carpet-baggers that have been parachuted in to head up every Quango and public body.

England will be left to pay off most of the trillions of debt run up by Winky and his gang.

Winky, Salmond and the rest can burn in hell...........

See the bit in bold. This is what I really take umbrage to.

Last time I checked, and the stats I found were from the noughties, every single region in the UK is a leech on the taxation derived from the South East and London.

Every single region outside those two, takes more funding than their net taxes give in. Scotland, was actually closest out the leeches to paying its own way. Mainly due to taxation of oil and gas companies' profits.

I fully expect the reponse to this to be the typical rhetoric about the North Sea would actually belong to England if we devolved anyways, so as to escape the main fact. Yes, we are a net drain, but only on the southeast and london and no more so than the other English, Welsh and Northern Irish regions.

But jumping back on subject for a second, Alec Salmond is a .

I love the Telegraph. It's bias is right out there in the open. Unlike the Beeb who make a pretence.

But the Englands other regions that are taking more than they give aren't jumping up and down about devolution etc etc are they well with the possible exception of Cornwalls nuttier elements). The Scots (at least their politicians) want the illusion of self governance and independance but still want the financial support from Westminster, well sorry, it's one or the other, and is becoming IMO embarressing for Scotland.

Besides which, when James the VI became James I, why didn't that keep the scots happy? Their boy was sitting on the old enemies throne, surely a victorious moment in anyones book?

Anyway, I do agree about Alec Salmond. Utter Tosser.

England does not have "Regions", it has Counties. Winky himself created the expression, "Britain, a country of nations and regions". The countries being Scotland and Wales, the regions being England. He and his Quisling hoards has tried to destroy England as a political and national entity since 1997. The "Regions" thing is his (party's) attempt to parcel up the UK and hand it over to Brussels.

In the event of a hung parliament at Westminster, what's it got to do with Alex Salmond anyway? He's (now) only an MSP.... does he negociate with Broon about Labour co-operation passing laws in Edinburgh, or with the leader of the Labour MSPs, Iain Gray?

So why should any Westminster leader negociate with him and not with whoever will be the SNP leader in Westminster? Salmod really is an odious opportunist!

Self governance for Scotland is a joke, Salmond and the like couldn't run my company!! They are a massive embarassment to Scottish people. Just ditch the lot of them and spend the money saved from not having a Scottish "parliament" on services the Scottish people want.

They (the leaders of the socialist states of Scotland, Wales and N. Irlenad) are moaning again. Essentially they want their irresponsible spending to go on for a bit longer.

The Beeb said:
The first ministers of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have issued a joint declaration attacking the UK government's spending plans.

The leaders of the three devolved administrations said the coalition's cuts are "too fast and too deep" and may put the economic recovery at risk.

Alex Salmond, Carwyn Jones and Peter Robinson want cuts phased in over a longer period.

The prime minister said that approach would worsen the debt problems.

Doesn't the Scottish Parliament have tax-raising powers? If they don't like the cuts, raise the money so they don't have to make the cuts!

I think the point is though that there aren't any other (regions) counties of England calling for devolution.
