So on the news now, Liebour are wheeling out the young woman who had acid thrown at her and CCTV helped to find her attacker.

Seems like a real appeal to emotion from Liebour.

Brown just mentioned it and she was on the Mandleson press conference earlier.

Point is though CCTV did NOTHING to prevent said attack.

I'm really sick of Liebour spin.

I'm really sick of CCTV on every street corner. Why not spend the money on police?

It sees that acid attacks are a not-uncommon feature of life amongst certain communities. One may observe that keeping such communities out of the UK would have been a better bet than putting in CCTV once they have arrived.

Do you mean the mexicans? Saw a program the other week where the drug cartels were using acid to dissolve bodies of people they were killing. One man who got arrested said he'd personally dissolved 100's of bodies in acid. Nasty.

It's strange how people seem to be happy to use CCTV to attempt to find the attackers rather than using live police on the beat to prevent the attacks happening.

I say seem to be happy, though I've not met many who actually want CCTV.

Certain communities?

Her attackers were Stefan Sylvestre and Daniel Lynch:

They look to be of African or West Indian origin. Acid attacks may be more common in South Asia but how would restricting the flow of Africans into this country help stop any future incidents?

Why not go the whole hog and remove all white middle aged men from working in our schools? After all, statistically they are the more likely to be caught for kiddy fiddling, no?

And there, boys and girls, we have the whole issue of integration of ethnic minority communities neatly summed up.

I really couldn't have put it any more elegantly. And in less than 15 words too ... lovely!

Thanks Shaid! thumbup

I think they are one step ahead of you, there can't be that many white middle aged male school teachers still in the profession!
