I stopped listening to local radio about a year ago due to the sheer amount of pathetic, meaningless Government ads on it, I don't listen to BBC either, so at home/work I listen to Radio Caroline over the net or on Sky and MP4 player in the car I've not watched the TV news for ages either, I get any current news here

It's standard socialism - the state knows best. And wants to have control of every facet of our life.

Best not let the public have water heated to 30c in case they hurt themselves when they wash/bathe.......

Ah no you're missing the potential here (the EU is the master at this ). What you really want to do is regulate and control. If you regulate, you'll need to set up a commission (quango) chaired by one's noble chum to draw up said regulations and quango's remit, and once that 2 year wheeze vital task is accomplished at great expense to the tax payer, you'll need another Quango to administrate said new regulations. Hey presto, you've burned a few 10s of millions and lined the pockets of your chums. Nice 'work' if you can get it.
