no matter how bigoted someone is, they should be able to express themselves. i wholeheartedly disagree with what he thinks (my bestman when i get married in 2 months is gay), but strongly feel he should be able to tell people his views if he wants to.

Welcome to Air Strip One, any view point not authorised by the state will be outlawed, we've seen 13 years of government creeping legislation and propaganda to this effect, with school children brainwashed in the same way as the Hitler Youth were in the 1930's
As we've seen with the USSR ultimately the only response will ultimately be civil unrest.
As Martin Niemöller famously put it
"They came for the Jews and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew"

The scum in power have been slowly but surely eroding freedomg of thought and speech for years now. Why the public allow this I know not.
Too busy discussing who will win the next celebrity Big Brother or X-factor.
I doubt this will even get to the CPS though, it's just a chippy plastic plod abusing his powers.MX7 said:
I can't see that he will be prosecuted for this. If he is, they will in effect be making a belief of Christianity illegal.
It's more to do with misinterpretation of the law than anything else. After this, and the Philip Lardner case, there needs to be some guidelines set.

Mr McAlpine pleaded not guilty at a preliminary hearing on Friday at Wokingham magistrates court and is now awaiting a trial date.
Doesn't that mean that he has already been prosecuted?Don

It is strange how people are happy to keep their freedoms and happy to remove the freedoms of those with whom they disagree, a worrying trend of sociliasm IMHO.

I have been following the same threads and it is worrying that empathy seems to be dissappearing from large sections of society.Years ago, politicians behaved with a sense of responsibility. Nowadays, it seems as if the Daily Mail is running the three main parties.
We seem to have lost an awful lot of our liberty over the past 11 years.

Human beings have the ability to create a beautiful world yet we have been manipulated and lied to for the benefit of the elite, not us. They have created a corrupt population because a corrupt population is easy to control.
And yes we have lost an awful lot of our liberty over the years and if you believe what is talked about and we do end up with a world government (new world order) then expect a lot more of our freedom to go.
