Well maybe I'm missing some information, but being a true Petrol Head, what party is going to sort out all the crap roads we have in the UK? I hear parties talk about education, pensions, NHS, immigration, social housing, but to date Ive not heard any of them talk about bringing down the cost of fuel or repairing the roads to a decent level!

Is anyone out there going to help us?

Nope, but Cameron has made mutterings of hindering us less.

Labour will cut spending on roads, as will libdems, plus they want road pricing. Tory brought in the fuel price escalalator, labour scrapped it. All the main parties will bleed drivers.

Or if its just driving, UKIP

There is no party that takes the views of motorists very seriously.

There are many causes for this, all parties know they need money from fuel [always have] so you could say the government is as addicted to petrol just as much as the most petrol-headed car nut.

It is just from the other side of the till.

Fuel duty is easy money and it is quick, it is the cash for everyday out goings, its importance should not be underestimated in this respect.

Although the 'income' is quite small is terms of overall take it runs much of the 'immediate outgoing sums' that is why any attempt to slow or cut this off scares the hell out of the government.

If we were, as motorists, to organise a simple set of 'No Driving' weekends over the summer its effects would over say 10-15 weeks would be far more devastating than the actual sum with-held would be thought to have done.

The shortfall of 4 week-ends would cause more fear in the treasury in all the cabinet offices paying out wages than the tanker strike ever managed, do it for 3-4 months and the angst would be quite a sight.

But no-one will do it, it involves a bit of hardship and we don't like hardship, even if it means things improve in the end.

In conclusion, you are wasting your time looking for a smiling face for the motorist, a greedy face greets you at every political stop-off.

Sorry.

Labour: going to reduce spending on motorists/roads.

Conservatives: Cameron said he was a motorist and understood the shock at the petrol pumps thus will implement a fluctuating duty based on the price of oil, it goes up, taxes come down and vice versa to stabilise the price at the pumps.

Lib-Dems: I don’t know, but it doesn’t really matter as no one will be more surprised if they get in than them.

At the state this country is in, I don't think our 'crap' roads are the highest thing on the agenda for any party. There are much more important uses (or savings) right now than repairing a few potholes. Our road network is still one of the best in the world. Even minor C roads are tarmaced, whereas in many other 1st world countries they would be gravel or something.

Building new roads / lowering fuel duty etc are other issues, but repairing roads will not feature high on anyone's agenda for getting us back on the path to economic recovery I wouldn't have thought.

Until enough people vote UKIP, their policies and direction will be ignored by the mainstream parties.

The general direction of the country is set by the EU anyway, and only the BNP and UKIP are serious about halting this. The Conservatives are the most likely to push back on EU regulations and Cameron has pledged referenda on any major treaties, but this could be an empty promise!

UKIP.

The other parties are pretending that the UK public debt isn't a real problem. This means that they will not addsess the problem, so they will never have money to invest in roads, or any other infrastructure(Power stations, water resevoirs etc).

Some people feel that a vote for UKIP will be wasted. This is not true. The Conservative party will know that every vote for UKIP is a vote that they have lost because their policies are wrong. This will influence their future direction in a very positive manner.

In my eyes they are all lying sts and none of them deserve my vote, they all engourged themselves on expenses.

Do you really believe that any of them are going to do what they are promising once they get in, no matter who gets in tax is going to increase & public spending is going to decrease.

The only problem with UKIP is that they insist on maintaining their lunatic notion of pulling us out of the EU and thinking we'll lose nothing and gain everything.

Until they become sensible on that, it makes it impossible to vote for any of their very good policy items.

Vote Tory
The only option.

The priority is to remove the current incumbents, who have amply demonstrated an ability to fk up everything that they touch.

The only way to do that is a Tory vote.

To tell you the truth, the effect of leaving the EU would be good for my company. I've just signed a cheque for £950.00 so that we can say that we comply with the WEEE directive. £500.00 goes to the DoE, and the rest goes to a company who will be able to dispose of anything that we have to take back from a customer for disposal.

We haven't ever, in 20 years, been asked to take anything back. This £950.00 is money being flushed down the drain.

The RoSH regulations meant that one of our UK based suppliers ceased operations. We now import replacement items from France.

I would employ more people if we were not in the EU. My UK suppliers would employ more people if we were not in the EU. You have to pay more for the new products that we now have to supply. Yes *you*, because all of our customers are central government.

These are only two examples of how the EU makes us more inefficient... there are hundreds more.

EU regulation is utter madness.
